A report from legal recruitment company Ten Percent has suggested that conveyancing jobs showed signs of being on the increase in June, but the picture isn’t quite so bright elsewhere.
Although the recruitment firm said it had recruited for some excellent vacancies with good salaries, it also highlighted that it had also endured some “very quiet periods”.
The company reported that the market had shown “conflicting signs”. Ten Percent said that the boost in conveyancing roles was promising and that it expected other legal disciplines to follow. However, it warned that previously there have been a number of “false starts”.
In addition, Ten Percent reported promising signs from corporate commercial posts, which have also increased, with a particular rise noted in the 0-3 year PQE salary bracket.
The recruitment firm says it has noticed an increase in enquiries about crime solicitors and also anticipates that a number of firms will be looking to expand their duty solicitor numbers in the fairly near future.
