Environmental Law Foundation – Charity Supporting Local Communities

The Environmental Law Foundation (ELF) is a charity where solicitors, barristers and technical experts volunteer their time to support local matters affecting the environment.

This network of legal professionals gives free advice and legal support to individual people and communities – helping them to be heard on issues affecting the environment in which they live.

Environmental Law Foundation

The charity’s current President is HRH The Prince of Wales.

It was founded in 1992 and is run to foster participation and access to justice.

It’s about community views and feelings – not theirs or any notion of a ‘green elite’. They support local issues related to the quality of the air we breathe, our open spaces, wildlife, land use and the waterways near our homes.

If you have concerns about business, council or government policies and actions that may have a negative effect on the environment, it may be worth contacting the ELF for free advice and to see if they could help you.
