{"id":289,"date":"2011-07-20T16:45:36","date_gmt":"2011-07-20T16:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lawandlegal.co.uk\/careers\/?p=289"},"modified":"2011-07-20T16:45:36","modified_gmt":"2011-07-20T16:45:36","slug":"loan-law-students-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lawandlegal.co.uk\/careers\/loan-law-students-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Loan for law students launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BPP Law School has partnered up with specialist bank Investec to launch a student loan exclusively for its law students.<\/p>\n<p>The loan has been developed following student feedback which suggested that a lack of funding was the main issue holding potential law students back.<\/p>\n<p>The loans will be offered to any full-time students who have enrolled onto a BPP Graduate Diploma in Law, Legal Practice Course or Bar Professional Training Course. The courses are offered at eight different cities around the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Students can borrow a maximum of \u00a325,000 and a minimum of \u00a31,000. The loans are offered with a five-year interest rate of 9.5%. The money can be used to pay for part of the fees or all the fees and for living fees but the amount used for living fees must not exceed more than 20% of the cost of the course.<\/p>\n<p>The loans are repaid on a monthly basis but there is an 18-month repayment holiday from the start date of the loan and no early repayment fees will be levied.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Crisp, Chief Executive and Dean of BPP Law School, said:\u201cWe are pleased to be working with a highly regarded financial organisation such as Investec, and this initiative will be welcome news to students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8220;BPP is committed to supporting students as much as we can, and in addition to our scholarship programme, we are always looking for ways in which we can help train our future lawyers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BPP Law School has partnered up with specialist bank Investec to launch a student loan exclusively for its law students.
